About Us

Woodbridge and District group RDA is over 50 years old and has been in its current home, The Bays, Clopton, since 2017. We are fortunate to have a custom-built centre with facilities that include a 40 x 20 indoor school and a barn housing static barrels and a mechanical horse. 
We also have an all-weather outdoor arena, community room with a viewing gallery and kitchen for refreshments, a quiet room and outdoor tracks and trails, all set in peaceful Suffolk countryside. Our horses and ponies have purpose built stables, large paddocks for grazing and socialization and a horsewalker.

We are open six days a week and offer a wide range of equine experiences for children, young people and adults. The group originally began by providing riding and carriage driving to clients with emotional and physical disabilities. Our offer has grown over the years and we have added equine activities for those who do not wish to ride but benefit from the unique bond being close to a horse or pony brings and tea with a pony for those with dementia. 

We have recently added vaulting to our many activities along with the Changing Lives Through Horses programme. We are experienced in working with children and young people who need a safe, caring environment in which to thrive.

Our centre relies on volunteers and charitable donations. You are most welcome to come and visit us with a view to participating, or volunteering, but please contact us first as we would love to show you around our active equestrian centre personally.
